Ford Motor Company and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have dropped four recalls involving five different vehicles in a single day.
BMW says there have been “incidents” in both Europe and the United States, but no injuries as a result.
“Ford is aware of the NHTSA investigation and will, as always, cooperate fully with the agency,” said company spokesman Dan Pierce.
“We don’t think there’s an immediate fire risk,” said GM North American President Mark Reuss. “This is a post-crash activity.”
