Can I get SR-22 insurance with an invalid license?

While you normally wouldn’t be able to get insurance without a driver’s license, this may be the exception. If you’ve lost your license due to a DUI or other serious traffic violation, the state may require that you get SR-22 insurance. Companies that offer SR-22 insurance know that the state will not issue you a license, unless you have that type of insurance. Therefore, they’re willing to offer you the insurance even without a valid driver’s license. Once you’ve gotten your insurance, you can go to the DMV and show them the form to get your driver’s license back.
