How do I get a motorcycle license in New Jersey if I’m 16?
If you want to get a motorcycle license in New Jersey and are under the age of 18, you must take a Motorcycle Safety Education Program Basic Rider Course. You can find more information on the MSEPBRC at the New Jersey Safe Ride website. However, you must be at least 17 years old to get your permit. The course doesn’t mention that you need to be 17 to enroll, so you may be able to take the class and get that out of the way while you wait to turn 17. Contact the specific location where you would be attending class to see if they allow 16 year olds to take the course.
