When you are under the age of 18 and seeking a driver’s license in Connecticut, you must go through the Graduated Driver License (GDL) program. The program sets up different levels of licensure and requires that you meet certain conditions before you can move from one level to the next. In order to move from the learner’s permit to the intermediate license, you must have a certain amount of driving practice. Connecticut requires that you complete 40 hours of driving practice before you can move to the intermediate license.
