ISO stands for Insurance Services Offices. The ISO symbols are a universal symbol for determining how costly it would be to fix a vehicle after it an accident. Every car that is made in the U.S. and other countries is assigned a number by the ISO system. The more expensive a car is to repair the higher the ISO symbol. When you apply for insurance, your prospective insurer will look up the ISO number for your car and determine the cost of your premium. So if you have a car with a high ISO number, you’ll have a higher base insurance premium.
